Soggy Skateboarding with the Sony FS700

It may be a wet and windy winter but the Clockwise Media Creative Team in Bristol won't let that stop them from going for a skate. Last week they headed out at lunchtime to play on their boards and the high frame rate recording feature on the Sony FS700. Creative Director Dan said, "Ok, we admit we might not be the most talented or stylish skateboarders in the world but it definately felt good to blow away the cobwebs and get some fresh air. Enjoy.."

Campus Skate Park Fundraising Video

Campus skatepark are embarking on an exciting and ambitious new project. They are turning an old swimming pool in Bristol into a fresh new skatepark and community centre. Clockwise Media offered our support by creating a short promo film to help raise awareness for the project and raise some valuable funds. The film received over 2500 views in under 24 Hours and was picked up by international skateboard magazine and website Sidewalk. The boys at Campus have also been approached by the BBC to run an article on the project off the back of seeing the film. To find out...

Behind The Scenes At The Campus Pool Party Skate Edit

Clockwise Media may have been born filming club nights and music acts around Bristol but back in the day, it was all about skateboarding. We were stoked to get the chance to use our professional skills to make an old school skate jam video edit at the old Bishopswprth swimming pool in Bristol. The guys behind Campus skatepark have raised money and are about to turn this derelict building into a brand new indoor skate par so we went to tear it up before they tear it down!

Seventeen years ago we were all about the fisheye but these...

DIY Bristol Skate Update

As part of the ongoing work our creative team is doing with the skate community in Bristol and the South West, we have a double whammy of skate-related news. Back in April we gave you the last session in the abandoned swimming pool before it became Bristol's newest concrete skate facility. The park is now up and running and we have the video evidence to prove it. Our creative director is also coordinating an event for up and coming skaters and video makers alike. Please read on for more info and follow DIY Bristol to keep up to...

Fix Up Skate Comp Results

The brief was simple. Create a two minute film focused on skateboarding and having fun. Last weekend sixteen teams spent three days getting creative in the sunshine, armed with a video camera, a "loose" storyline and a large dose of enthusiasm. It doesn't seem to take much to encourage skateboarders to put on some fancy dress and take to the streets.

DC UK Lock in at Campus Pool

Since it's doors opened last summer, Campus Pool has become a key location in the Bristol skate scene. During the day it’s open to all but once a month the park allows a crew of skaters to stay behind after the doors have locked to film a skate edit. Having worked with the Campus crew on their DIY Pool Party session and opening videos we were more than happy to get involved when the DC Shoes UK team came to town. We were keen to avoid shooting the whole edit using standard skate video techniques so we brought...

Red Bull - Hold The Line

Red Bull continued to push boundaries in action sports by working with the Royal Albert Hall for their latest skateboarding event - Hold The Line. Pro skaters from around the world came to London to compete in this unique competition where they had to perform the best line down the sets of stairs, with the iconic venue in the background.

Hugh Hardie - Everything Was Nothing Music Video

Hugh Hardie is a long term friend of the Clockwise team and as his career goes from strength to strength, it’s great to get the opportunity to support him on his journey. He has just released his debut City Soul EP on Hospital Records and over the last few months we have been squeezing in shoots where we can to produce the Everything Was Nothing music video.

Our aim with this project was to produce a skate based music video utilising our kit to produce something with high production values. Hugh and the Higginson brothers have skated together...

Back in 2008 when Clockwise Media was in it's first year of existence, we filmed an event called Project 360 at Lloyds amphitheatre in Bristol. The film was received really well and ended up being used as the main promo film for the event. This lead to talks with the event organiser, Graham MacVoy of GMC events. He ran various extreme sports events and festivals including one called Olliewood, a 2day film, skate, edit event which encouraged skaters to make a unique 90sec film about skateboarding.
