Peter Thompson: The Mind Behind the Marathons

Last year we supported Peter Thompson as he took on the incredible challenge of running 44 marathons in 44 days. Now he’s off on a new adventure...

We started out by creating a short promo film for Peter and his Marathons for the Mind challenge. That film eventually helped him raise more than £20,000.

Before he set off we also equipped him with a GoPro to document his adventure. We used that footage to put together a documentary which focuses both on the trials and physical tribulations of undertaking such a challenge but also the reasons why Peter felt compelled to raise money and awareness for mental health causes.

The film will be showing at the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival in March but, in the meantime, you can check it out below.

Peter recently announced his next challenge: running the 2018 Tour de France in 70 days! Setting off on 19 May, with a seven-week headstart on the Tour cyclists, Peter will be trying to run the entire 2018 Tour de France route and make it to the finish line first…

His latest test will see him attempting 30 miles a day for 70 days, covering 2,069 miles and 27,000 metres of climbs. This will all be to raise money and awareness for the amazing work of charities Mind and Livability Holton Lee.
