Boomtown Fair: Chapter Nine

Boomtown Fair returned for a ninth instalment last month and, as always, Clockwise was there to capture all the action.

This is always one of our largest and most enjoyable, not to say challenging, shoots of the year and chapter nine did not disappoint. The Boomtown team constantly aims to do bigger and better shows - which puts the onus on us to deliver bigger and better films!

We took a team of 31 people this year to work on a wide range of content including the main after-movie, full coverage of several headline acts, a series of bite-size social content, and a documentary focusing on the drugs-related harm reduction efforts undertaken by the festival this year.

Capturing all that required a hell of a lot of kit! Over the course of the weekend we shot drone, cable and pole-cam footage and called upon a whole host of camera and Gimbal set-ups including a Red Epic, Sony F55, Sony FS7 and Sony A7S. The production was directed and edited by Callum Whiteley (Skewiff).

We arrived at the festival site nice and early to shoot the storyline aspects of the after-movie and were greeted by torrential rain and thick mud. By the time the gates opened we still had a lot to do! The weekend itself involved a lot of long hours but thankfully the rain stopped after the gates opened and, helped by the incredible spirit of all our crew, we came away with everything we needed to showcase the full spectacle of the weekend.

Roll on Chapter 10 and everything that will bring...
