L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2016 launches

This is our fourth year working on the L’Oréal Colour Trophy event and after the huge success of the UK’s 60th anniversary in 2015, this year sees the Irish competition celebrate it’s 50th with big plans. To launch the campaign we created these two short edits from previous highlights to be used across the L’Oréal Professionel social media channels. With their focus on online reach this year, we made cut down Instagram versions to ensure they were engaging with their audience across all platforms.

Having worked on the competition for several years, we have worked with some...

We're hiring!

Junior animator and editor role available in our Bristol office.

We are looking for someone to join our Bristol-based post production team to work as a junior animator and editor. For this role we are looking for someone who has more animation than editing skills.

There will also be a requirement to manage the...

DC UK Lock in at Campus Pool

Since it's doors opened last summer, Campus Pool has become a key location in the Bristol skate scene. During the day it’s open to all but once a month the park allows a crew of skaters to stay behind after the doors have locked to film a skate edit. Having worked with the Campus crew on their DIY Pool Party session and opening videos we were more than happy to get involved when the DC Shoes UK team came to town. We were keen to avoid shooting the whole edit using standard skate video techniques so we brought...

Caspa and Rusko - Blouse and Skirt Music Video

Caspa and Rusko are back. If that means nothing to you, then the meteoric rise of dubstep’s wobbly forefathers will be a mystery. Back in 2007, Fabriclive 37 was released and with that, the electronic music landscape started to change. Since then, Caspa and Rusko have toured consistently, especially in the US. Now, back in the studio together for the first time in seven years, they have dropped their first single ‘Blouse and Skirt’ to much online excitement. The video concept was simple, one man, a blouse and skirt and a day trip round London. Oh and...

From This City - Surf Film

As every surfer across the globe will know, living in a city comes with it's consequences - often missing the swell and the minimal daylight hours to meet deadlines, watching your mates score back home while you're sat at a computer desk and, in my case, clicking away on a mouse in the edit suite far away from the ocean. As a film maker, my job allows me to lose myself in my imagination, and this is what inspired the film.

Clockwise x Noel Halligan - Bubble Trouble

In the first part of two collaborations with Noel Halligan, we took to Central Studios in Bristol - conveniently located below our office- for a fun day of beauty and bubbles. Noel has been a close friend of Clockwise since we met filming for L’Oréal in Barcelona and we are proud to finally have brought this collaboration to life. We used our Sony F55 and carl Zeiss CP.2 lenses, a bubble machine and some smoke to create a playful, yet alluring production. This was directed and edited by our Creative Director Dan Higginson and graded by Harkimedes.

Crane Dance Bristol

In early October, 10,000 people flocked to Bristol Harbourside to watch the iconic dockside cranes become illuminated and dance to music as part of The Space / WIRED Creative Fellowship, supported by The Watershed . The idea was the brainchild of Laura Kriefman who is currently a studio resident at The Watershed. We were brought in by director Drew Cox to help to film the event. A heavy emphasis of the shoot involved shooting timelapses to showcase the cranes moving which was a perfect way to utilise our Dito OmniSlider. Three things we love to do...

Resident Advisor: Real Scenes Mexico

Packing the kit bag to go on a Real Scenes shoot is always an exciting time. You know that you are going to be heading off on a trip that you will remember forever. Although we normally visit for between a fortnight and a month, it always strikes me how much better you get to know a city when making a documentary there, rather than just passing through as a backpacker. We always seem to end up in a few situations where you pinch yourself and think, ‘how did I end up here?’ This year’s trip to Mexico City...

Arcadia Bristol Metamorphosis Show

Clockwise have always been fascinated by Arcadia. Our background in music and events has led us to many festivals and it’s only natural that we gravitate towards such an impressive structure. We’ve covered their shows multiple times, including an epic company outing to Glastonbury in 2013, and two of the directors even performed on the stage during an event at Motion Bristol when it was in the ‘Afterburner’ form.

Fix Up Skate Comp Results

The brief was simple. Create a two minute film focused on skateboarding and having fun. Last weekend sixteen teams spent three days getting creative in the sunshine, armed with a video camera, a "loose" storyline and a large dose of enthusiasm. It doesn't seem to take much to encourage skateboarders to put on some fancy dress and take to the streets.

Boomtown Fair 2015

Boomtown really smashed it.

This was their 7th annual event and the 4th at the Matterley Bowl in Winchester and they created a town like no other. The Lion’s Den stage moved to a huge natural amphitheatre and saw Shy FX play to 20,000 people on Friday night, the Boombox got bigger & louder and the new Bang Hai Palace was a mind-blowing seven story structure that housed 18,000 rapturous people and a DJ set from Noisia on Saturday night.

We did the video production for the 6th year in a row and alongside the festival production,...

City Hack Bristol Music Video

City Hack is a forward thinking campaign for Desperados where teams of creatives from different cites have been brought together to complete challenges and essentially 'hack' their city. The first challenge was to create a music video to represent their city and we were brought on board to work with the Bristol team to bring their vision for Mediks track 'Original Selecta' to life.

DIY Bristol Skate Update

As part of the ongoing work our creative team is doing with the skate community in Bristol and the South West, we have a double whammy of skate-related news. Back in April we gave you the last session in the abandoned swimming pool before it became Bristol's newest concrete skate facility. The park is now up and running and we have the video evidence to prove it. Our creative director is also coordinating an event for up and coming skaters and video makers alike. Please read on for more info and follow DIY Bristol to keep up to...

Peacock Society in Paris

Riding the success of Field Day, we headed out to the Peacock Society in Paris to produce the second in the new Resident Advisor series "In Video" . The aim of the article is to give the viewer a chance to feel like they were at the festival, for those that were unfortunate enough to miss out, or for those that attended the festival and wanted to relive their favourite sets.
