Last week, we headed to Holborn Studios to shoot a L'Oréal Academy training video and photoshoot. We shot 11 models with 11 different looks over five days with Steve Rowbottom and Leanne Brown from Westrow. We were shooting on Canon C300, Sony FS700 and Canon DSLR cameras for the Steadicam rig. Here's a little behind the scenes montage we shot in between the main shoots.
It may be a wet and windy winter but the Clockwise Media Creative Team in Bristol won't let that stop them from going for a skate. Last week they headed out at lunchtime to play on their boards and the high frame rate recording feature on the Sony FS700. Creative Director Dan said, "Ok, we admit we might not be the most talented or stylish skateboarders in the world but it definately felt good to blow away the cobwebs and get some fresh air. Enjoy.."
On a rather overcast and chilly winter day, the intrepid Clockwise team headed out from Bristol to the shores of South Wales to test the Sony FS700 with our new Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L ISM lens.
For the last few weeks our film crew have been travelling across the UK with the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Regional Tour, filming the events, providing the essential live camera and creating daily round up edits. The action started on April 5th where half the team did the long drive from Bristol to Holyhead to get the ferry over to Ireland, then the onward drive from Dublin to Belfast!
Diesel Only The Brave brought together four bands to battle it out in an online mix competition. We saw the likes of Waze and Odyssey, Mount Kimbie, The Klaxons and Clean Bandit rally for votes throughout the facebook campaign. The latter competitors made it through to the live final at Oslo in Hackney which was streamed online. This film shows the highlights of the campaign and the close battle between the finalists.
We have been working with Boomtown Fair festival on the video production for the last five years. From the humble beginnings in the Forest of Dean to the massive production they put on today in Hampshire, we have had the privilege of capturing the characters, sets and chaos of this truly unique independent festival.
This year, we worked very closely with the festival’s Creative Director Lak and Anna Wade who runs their PR to create a video that pushed the production levels higher than before and created a narrative, rather than just festival coverage. The intro was shot in the...
Its been a busy summer down at the Resident Advisor film department with multiple filming projects happening at any one time. On one particularly busy weekend, Clockwise media were on hand to step in and direct this Sessions shoot with the extraordinarily talented Nils Frahm.
This lakeside estate near Cambridge truly is one of the most magical places in the UK. It's difficult to describe the Secret Garden Party in words, so luckily we were equipped with video cameras. Our brief this year was to capture the true essence of the festival. Of course there were some big name headliners to entertain the crowds, such as Public Enemy and Clean Bandit, but the Secret Garden is more than just a music festival. It revolves around culture, theatrics, art and the unique and eccentric people that attend. The theme of the festival this...
Boomtown really smashed it.
This was their 7th annual event and the 4th at the Matterley Bowl in Winchester and they created a town like no other. The Lion’s Den stage moved to a huge natural amphitheatre and saw Shy FX play to 20,000 people on Friday night, the Boombox got bigger & louder and the new Bang Hai Palace was a mind-blowing seven story structure that housed 18,000 rapturous people and a DJ set from Noisia on Saturday night.
We did the video production for the 6th year in a row and alongside the festival production,...
As every surfer across the globe will know, living in a city comes with it's consequences - often missing the swell and the minimal daylight hours to meet deadlines, watching your mates score back home while you're sat at a computer desk and, in my case, clicking away on a mouse in the edit suite far away from the ocean. As a film maker, my job allows me to lose myself in my imagination, and this is what inspired the film.
