Last week, we headed to Holborn Studios to shoot a L'Oréal Academy training video and photoshoot. We shot 11 models with 11 different looks over five days with Steve Rowbottom and Leanne Brown from Westrow. We were shooting on Canon C300, Sony FS700 and Canon DSLR cameras for the Steadicam rig. Here's a little behind the scenes montage we shot in between the main shoots.
For the last few weeks our film crew have been travelling across the UK with the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Regional Tour, filming the events, providing the essential live camera and creating daily round up edits. The action started on April 5th where half the team did the long drive from Bristol to Holyhead to get the ferry over to Ireland, then the onward drive from Dublin to Belfast!
Diesel Only The Brave brought together four bands to battle it out in an online mix competition. We saw the likes of Waze and Odyssey, Mount Kimbie, The Klaxons and Clean Bandit rally for votes throughout the facebook campaign. The latter competitors made it through to the live final at Oslo in Hackney which was streamed online. This film shows the highlights of the campaign and the close battle between the finalists.
The full production team descended on Grosvenor House to cover the event of the year in British hairdressing. The Grand Final of the L'Oréal Colour Trophy was the culmination of months of work and it was a night to remember. Clockwise provided the bespoke projection mapped screen content, live coverage, on-site edits, promotional materials and this final highlights piece featuring the award ceremony and fashion shows from Dylan Bradshaw, Rush, TONI&GUY and more.
Here at Clockwise Media we like to think of ourselves as a family, and this past year the family has grown. Dan (Creative Director) lived up to his nickname and pulled the "Trigger" with his wife Ocky, who gave birth to Arthur Fox.
Arthur is now one year old and, in true media dad style, Dan has documented the first year VERY thoroughly. So if you like large doses of baby soppyness, sit back and enjoy a year in the life of Arthur Fox, one second at a time.
We have always had strong ties with the hair and fashion industry and over the years have met some flamboyant characters. One of these characters is Noel Halligan, who has become a close friend of the Clockwise Team and is now considered our in-house hairdresser. Not many production companies can claim they have that! Noel is passionate about hair and the underground culture of his home town, Bristol, which we have combined in the edit to make a unique promo. The film aims to push Noel as his own brand and keep us in trendy haircuts for the foreseeable...
Since September 2014 we have been working with the L’Oréal Professionnel UK team on the 60th Anniversary of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy event. It's the longest running hair competition in the world and referred to as the Oscars of hairdressing. For the third year running we have had the pleasure of producing all of the online and show VT content, as well as providing live coverage of the event and the spine-tingling fashion shows.
We created a film for Farah menswear to support their latest campaign #CoolAF. The concept for the film revolves around an 'effortlessly cool' character that makes his way through a trendy bar, solving social dilemmas on the way to meet his friends.
In the first part of two collaborations with Noel Halligan, we took to Central Studios in Bristol - conveniently located below our office- for a fun day of beauty and bubbles. Noel has been a close friend of Clockwise since we met filming for L’Oréal in Barcelona and we are proud to finally have brought this collaboration to life. We used our Sony F55 and carl Zeiss CP.2 lenses, a bubble machine and some smoke to create a playful, yet alluring production. This was directed and edited by our Creative Director Dan Higginson and graded by Harkimedes.
This is our fourth year working on the L’Oréal Colour Trophy event and after the huge success of the UK’s 60th anniversary in 2015, this year sees the Irish competition celebrate it’s 50th with big plans. To launch the campaign we created these two short edits from previous highlights to be used across the L’Oréal Professionel social media channels. With their focus on online reach this year, we made cut down Instagram versions to ensure they were engaging with their audience across all platforms.
Having worked on the competition for several years, we have worked with some...
